This event was a celebration dinner in honour of the Boys or '86 to mark the 20th year since their 3rd place finish in the First Division. It proved to be a very popular event with many well known television and sporting personalities in attendance.

The guests of honour were the Lyall family. John's widow Yvonne, her son Murray and his wife Sam were there to join in the celebrations. Later in the evening Yvonne was presented with a beautiful crystal vase by Phil Parkes.

It was a very emotional occasion but very fitting for such a great man .

The players were presented to the large audience one by one and with film footage of each being shown on the multi screens and a short introduction by Sky Sports presenter Matt Lorenzo himself a life-long Hammers supporter.

The show was hosted by TC and Galey
The evening included table interviews with each of the players and celebrities and was highly entertaining.  There was an excellent three course meal and of course the bar was very busy all evening!

There was an auction of the players signed shirts as well as some high quality memorabilia. The signed footballs also proved to be a popular item with the guests who snapped them up.  The players were available to everyone and signed autographs and posed for photographs throughout the evening.

It was a real treat for those in attendance to have the opportunity to meet their heroes and to chat over a drink as well as get a photo with them. When the show had ended there was an 80's disco for the people to dance the night away.

Tony Gale was in great form with some of his interviews, seen here with Ground Force star Tommy Walsh. Also there on the night was Perry Fenwick, Kris Akabusi and a former Hammer star Ronnie Boyce.

For many the event will be largely remembered for the tribute paid to John Lyall and who better to make it than 'his team' that came so close........
